From the PresidentAAMSS PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
I hope this update finds that 2012 is going well for everyone. I want to take this opportunity to update you on the activities of the 2012 AAMSS Board. Before doing so, I would like to acknowledge and thank the 2011 AAMSS Board and especially Christi Irwin, Past President, for her service and diligent work during 2011. Under Christi’s leadership several important initiatives were implemented. In an effort to increase AAMSS visibility and to demonstrate our commitment to quality patient care and partnership with health care leaders in the community, AAMSS Board members are attending many state licensing board meetings on a regular basis. The Board was also successful in having another medical licensing board convert to an email notification process when actions are taken against a practitioner. This assures facilities are notified quickly and can take appropriate actions. Legislative watch is in place to improve government relations and insure AAMSS members have a voice in legislation that affects them.
